Is the Anonymous Lead ID same as the Known Lead ID?

Hi, does anyone know whether the  Anonymous Lead ID same as the Known Lead ID after it is merged?

So was it the same ID before it merged as long as the anonymous lead uses the same browser and device, etc before they become known?

It's not actually correct to say "the" anonymous Lead ID is the same as "the" known Lead ID.

Multiple anonymous IDs will be merged into the same known lead, as multiple cookies become associated over time. (People clicking a link on their phone and on their PC, for one of many examples.)
