Hey Community,
Is anyone else experiencing some system-wide down right now? None of our triggered smart campaigns are firing this morning even though they were firing just fine last week.
Nothing has changed on those smart campaigns in terms of smart list and/or triggers. I also tested and went through submitting a form and seeing whether our smart campaigns would fire, and none of the triggered ones are firing.
Anyone having this problem too?

Many of us experienced an outage to some extent earlier this morning (around 9:30-10:30am ET). But everything seems to be back up now.
We had a huge backlog of campaigns in the queue this morning, but now everything seems to be back to normal. For system down notifications, I recommend subscribing to updates on Marketo Status.
I had a data change that should have triggered a smart campaign at 4:40am (PST) and it did not get triggered until 7:40am. I thought I was doing something wrong so that was really frustrating. I checked Marketo Status and it said everything was operational. I didn't click to expand Marketing Activities to confirm that Smart Campaigns was operational but I assumed if performance was degraded the top level value would have shown some kind of degraded status. I don't know how we can trust Marketo Status if it says it up when it is not really up.

Trigger campaigns in your instance are evaluated in order of priority, which can affect the timing in which a campaign executes it's flow after an activity. For example, if you have many high and medium priority campaigns processing, they can delay low priority campaigns from executing. More information can be found here How Campaign Processing Works
A campaign delay is not necessarily indicative of any issue with Marketo or of an outage. If you need some assistance in diagnosing why a campaign may be delayed, you should contact Marketo Support.
My campaign had a "Send Email" flow step so it looks like it would be High priority. This was also very early in the morning, which is typically a quiet time, so there should not be a ton of campaigns running at that time. This was at the same time that other folks had similar issues. So it does look like something was down and the Status page was not up to date. I could open a case but I would not hear back for 6 hours or so since I don't have premier support. So that's pretty frustrating.

Thanks for commenting and sharing. Glad to hear it wasn't just us. Our campaigns did eventually fire but it is a bit concerning that Marketo wasn't more proactive with identifying the issue.
