Important: Marketo Outlook and Gmail Add-In Update?

Early this morning I received an email with the subject "Important: Marketo Outlook and Gmail Add-In Update".  Was this sent to every Sales Insight Email Add-in user or just to administrators?  If to all users, I would have preferred to have received a heads-up prior to this, so that I could alert my users.

Please respond ASAP, so I can get ahead of this with my team.

I'm using 2007, and via support, I had to revoke my license and re-issue a new license... after that it installed fine. I just ran into the same issue with someone else on our team and had to do the same steps for her. It seems that the revoke/re-issue remedy resolved the initial installation issue. (#alliteration)

Karen - All new outlook install will use the new version. Also this does not affect MSI installs in a crm. Only outlook. So should to be good to go now.

Erin - I just sent the support folks over the initial list of folks who got the email.

Thanks - Aj

And are there any other tips that I need to be aware of prior to installing Sales Insight?

Thanks again!

We are relatively new to Marketo and just about ready to install the Sales Insight app into our org.  Based on these conversations, do you think we should wait a few more days to install or go ahead now?
Thank you!

Arjun:  I contacted support for a list of people that have not yet installed the upgrade, he said he is unaware of any such list.  Is there any way I can get that information?

Thanks!

Yep, my templates were all gone temporarily, only to return permanently a few hours later.

Thanks Jen!  Looks like it just takes some time for the templates to get repopulated.  Hopefully we are all good now...

Hey Erin - Yes, that's about right... click on the user, revoke their license, then you'll want to click on the "Issue License" button  and basically re-issue them a new license (they'll be sent a new invitation to click-through and install from there.)

I've recently removed my templates from Sales Insight (in the process of re-vamping these right now), so I can't reference if mine are available or not however, seems like Drew S. might have encountered that as well. His note from above: "Also, none of my templates seem to be available to the reps after the new install."

also did you use the selection to repair sales insight?  Now i am running into the issue that there are no Marketo Email templates populating?  Is anyone else having that issue???

I just want to make sure that I do this correctly.  I go into Sales insight, click on the person, revoke their license and then resend the invitation?  (First Timer 🙂 )

Our user was able to install his update after I revoked and reissued his license.   Thanks again Jen!

Thanks Jen!  Strangely I haven't heard back from Marketo tech support on this issue since I reported it Friday afternoon.  I revoked the license for my user and re-issued it.  Hopefully your simply stupendous suggestion will patch this pernicious problem!  :0)

If you resend the Email Add-In invitation, it will have the link to the latest versions.  You shouldn't have to revoke the license - that doesn't uninstall the Add-In.  And you shouldn't have to uninstall the Add-In either.  However, Erin and I both have a user who had problems during the installation.  Marketo tech support told me that they haven't been able to determine the cause.  Also, they haven't been able to get this working for my user yet.

I don't have the Outlook add-in (2013) and one of my sales guys didn't receive instructions... what instructions can I give to him?

Erin provided directed me to this thread (thanks Erin!!).

OK so if I go the route above (invite email from Admin--> Sales Insight --> Email Add In to that user), that just sends him a new invite right? So is this updated already? And will he need to uninstall first or should I revoke his license?

Elliot, I have a case open with support as well.

Elliot,

Very similar, except it wont have the user specific info required for upgrading.

If you do have users having issues, please open a case with support and they will troubleshoot.

Arjun, will the admin email that is sent out tonight be different than the one that was sent to users early this morning?  We also have users that are getting errors when they try to install the update.  Should they uninstall the current version and try again?  If so, please provide a link to information on removing the current version.
