Is there a way to export the email performance report to pull up in excel?
Liz,
Of course: Export a Report to Excel - Marketo Docs - Product Docs
Also this question is Products related so should go in that portal. Marketing Central is meant for general marketing discussions.
Liz you can also subscribe to an email performance report and set it to automatically send the excel spreadsheet to your inbox as frequently as needed. Very helpful, especially when you are asked for it frequently!
Hi Liz,
There are two export the data to Excel:
Report > Excel
Email Performance > Export
The Excel spreadsheet looks like this:
Remember to look at your setup
In particular which emails you are reporting against and the time period. I find it useful to set the time period to one year. If you leave the report in the default setting of 'last 7 days', when you check the report next month it says 0 emails opened/sent/delivered, because it is only looking at the performance over 7 days, which is probably not what you are looking for.
Also it may be worth setting up 2 reports for Email Performance.
1) report where you monitor the emails for one campaign and/or month
2) report where you measure all the emails from similar campaigns or for an entire year
Hope this helps,
Sally Dickson
Hi, Is there anyway to automate this process using REST?
No, Marketo aggregate data/canned reports aren’t available using the REST API.
You can of course export the raw data and write your own reports against it.
Is there anything in the roadmap about adding an API to pull aggregated reports?
Nope.
What would the real value in pulling the report by API be? The report is for users, and hence the subscription process exists.
By the time you get down to that kind of API call, why not use an API call to export the data into a data warehouse, and then create automated reporting in whatever tool your business uses? This is what most of my clients do. It then means the data can be aggregated across Marketo and other systems (e.g. CRM, Sales data etc).
Cheers
Jo

The subscription only allows daily/weekly updates. We have a dashboard for viewing email metrics and would like it to be real-time updated, not updated once, and we don't want to have to have a data warehouse to store every single event from every recipient, we just want aggregated metrics. I'm surprised more people haven't asked for this.
