Hello community!
We usually use forms in our website in order to get leads.
We are thinking on:
+ Creating a form via Marketo and embedding it in our external website
However, another issue came up:
+ Can we connect our actual "external" forms to Marketo in order to pass the gathered information to Marketo?
Is this possible? How can we do it? Would we have more data if we go for option 1 (use Marketo forms)?
Thank you very much!!!
Depends on your design goals.
You can use a completely custom HTML form and submit it to Marketo using a background form submission. However, if you don't have a skilled JS developer, you can well introduce features to your form that you will not understand how to "repackage" for submission to Marketo.
You do not inherently get any more data with a Marketo form than with a custom form. When you use a background form submission, the Marketo-specific data is added on-the-fly even if it didn't exist on your custom form.
I wouldn't recommend trying to use a custom form while you're also getting to learn Marketo for the first time.
Hi Sanford,
Our issue is that those forms have already been created. Do we need to change their code if want to pass that gathered data to Marketo? would we need to add the background form submission in this case?
Thank you!
You need to adapt the form to use a background Marketo Forms 2.0 form submission, yes.
Thank you Sanford!
