Do you use SFDC notes and attachments to synch Marketo person notes field?

I am trying to find a solution to capture tradeshow notes, comments/questions submitted on our forms and lead notes from other marketing activities in SFDC. What field do you use in SFDC to capture notes from leads? Notes and attchments? Description? Any customer field?

We have a custom field called comments (a couple actually, comment 1, comment 2, etc.) that we place all our lead form notes in. We don't use attachments, so no ideas on that one, but we do utilize quite a few additional custom fields in SFDC, such as area of interest, if the customer requested to be contacted, what breakout sessions they attended, etc.

We use the comments field in SFDC. However, because of the possibility that it will override other information on the lead, we also have a tradeshow interaction field, which will have the most recent interaction from an event recorded, so we don't lose other vital information that may have been collected during initial research into the lead.

I highly recommend dropping comments into Tasks instead of several fields.

Re: Do you use SFDC notes and attachments to synch Marketo person notes field?

I have created a custom field in Marketo called "Notes Update" that I use to append new notes with the existing data in the "Notes" field in SFDC.

For example, when I want to import a new note to the "Notes" field in SFDC while still preserving the historical data, I import the new note into the "Notes Update" field in Marketo. That import triggers an operational campaign that I've set up that inserts this value into the "Notes" field, which then syncs over to SFDC:

{{system.date}}: {{lead.Notes Update}} |||| {{lead.Notes}}

This string of tokens adds a date stamp, the new note, and the old notes.
