Archived campaigns triggering?

Hi,

We're getting instances of old, archived campaigns triggering updates to our leads. For example, a lead is updated in Salesforce and is synced across to Marketo. Because the lead was once part of an old program (which has since been archived), it gets re-added to the Marketo program and triggers a series of updates in the system which makes it pop out as an MQL.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any reason as to why it might be happening? Support are not sure what's happening and are still investigating.

Thanks

Natali

No surprise, an active campaign is still active. Archiving doesn't automatically solve that; archiving is overwhelmingly cosmetic, not functional.

Came here to say what Sanford did. Keep in mind that landing pages are also live after you archive them. We go through a practice of "closing" a program down before archiving it - ensuring that everything that needs to be deactivated is taken care of.

Also keep in mind that you can mass unapprove assets in Sky which helps the process 🙂

Re: Archived campaigns triggering?

I've removed this as the solution because it wasn't a solution. As mentioned, none of these campaigns are active, they are turned off. And for some reason they are still triggering.

We've tried to work with support on a solution, but they can't find one. So its still a bug that pops up sporadically

I wouldn't settle for that explanation from support. A trigger campaign that's deactivated must not fire or your whole instance is unstable.
