I'm working through this week's module, Lead and Data Management, and just want to confirm if I'm understanding Trigger Tokens used for Interesting Moments correctly. They've always given me a tiny bit of trouble!

Example: A smart campaign looking at form fills for Super Cool Event.

  • Interesting Moment: {{trigger.Trigger Name}} - {{trigger.Name}}
  • Populated text: "Fills out Form - Super Cool Event Form Name"?

Also, if any of my fellow aspirants use Trigger Tokens often in their Interesting Moments, I'd love to hear how! ๐Ÿ˜

Thanks for this Josh! I unfortunately do not have admin access in my Marketo instance. I have skipped this section of the prep guide for now. It's the one part of Marketo I don't have a ton of experience with so I once I move to that section in the guide I'll be sure to reach out for help if needed.

I found Question 6:
The answer will be "This lead was merged with another lead".  The reason is that you can see specific activity BEFORE the "New Person" activity.  This means there must have been more than one lead at some point. Typically this is also accompanied by a "Merge Leads" activity which makes it more obvious.

Faizal, have you gone through the full study guide already, I fear some of this is a learn by do situation but things like period costs are covered in the study guide.

Thanks for this, Josh!

Can we expect a quiz question(s) at some point this week as well for the Admin/Maintenance section? And possibly a second set for the Marketing Activities/Campaign Management section since we're in the second week now?

Awesome - thank you! I will check that out.

If anyone is looking for a starting point or resources on a specific topic, Cynthia Chang (@cychang_adobe ) from Adobe published this amazing guide about a year ago. This is probably the best guide I've seen and I love how it's broken down into specific concepts as well as basics / advanced levels.

Thanks for this!

In addition, my coworker also wrote up a study guide for the expert exam with tons of links. It is laid out in the same format as the Adobe study guide. There might be some overlaps but it could also be useful!

Hi Everyone!

Excited to meet you all and to learn together in this program. Iโ€™ve been working with Marketo for over 15 years now and I think Iโ€™ve taken this exam 8 time now. I have also worked with dozens of people to get certified and I love the process because I always end up learning more myself. I know the more questions that are asked here, the more we discuss, the more we all get out of this. So please ask ALL of the questions and jump in with answers as well!

Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/joshuaarrington/

Also a huge thank you to @Jon_Chen for running this fantastic program and everything he does in this community. I think the best ways to get better with Marketo are

  1. Use it. Use the platform every day
  2. Participate in this Marketing Nation community.  Ask questions, answer questions, read what people are talking about.
  3. Attend the Marketo User Groups (MUGs), in person and online.
