Thanks for posting these! Other than this and the practice exam by Adobe, where else is a good source for mock tests?

I've actually found some really good ones (and not so good ones 😅) doing a google search for quizlets people have created:

Hi Josh,

I just made a guess from memory based on knowing the question, but question 4 in the Lead Management quiz doesn't have the associated screenshot to reference to be able to answer the question.

Also, on Lead Management and Data Management, there are a couple of questions that require review and weren't automatically marked right or wrong.

Got a few wrong there on the Reporting section, so I'm going to spend today really digging into that last section! 😬

Thanks Mary, and sorry. I've updated the quizes now, but FYI it looks like you got all of the questions with the missing auto-grade correct.  Well done!

Just want to say thanks @Josh for volunteering to mentor us! I'm going to schedule the exam for hopefully next week before the 4th of July holiday (and before everything falls out of my brain, lol).

Good luck to all my fellow aspirants if you schedule soon as well! 🤗

I just submitted the first one but I think I forgot to add my name. 😂 I got an 11/12.

That Look Up field question always gets me - I need to just commit it to memory at this point I think!

Great! Yes I used to forget about it too. After many CRM integrations for clients we actually added it to the discussion checklist so it wouldn't be a surprise later.

Hi All,

I'm Vish Gupta, I have been using the platform for 5 years, but only deeply starting to use it this year, prior I was managing a team and mostly doing campaign ops QA type work. I have passed the professional cert a couple of years ago, but have been struggling with the MCE. Looking forward to being part of this group and passing my MCE!

Hi Josh and other fellow aspirants,

My name is Faizal Reza. I have been using marketo on and off since 2019. For about a year now I have started using Marketo now.

Can you share one module each week so we can focus on topic and can ask questions if any I have.

Also please share some practice tests?

Thanks

Faizal

Okay, so I've been running through the Exam Prep Guide briefly and I need to know - is there any trick to remembering how Workspaces and Person Partitions function? 😆 When to use them, how they work, what can/can't be shared between them, etc. I feel like there's SO much going on and my first thought is that the only solution is to just work on memorizing it, especially if you don't actively use them in your instance.

If anyone has any tips, though, I'm all ears lol!

@marypaine - You can find this thread useful for workspace and partiton given by Alysha - https://nation.marketo.com/t5/product-discussions/%EF%B8%8F-mentor-alysha-khan-adobe-marketo-engage-...

Following the Adobe Marketo Engage Business Practitioner Expert Prep Guide  we can take this section by section:

Administration and Maintenance (12%)

Marketing Activities/Campaign Management (46%)

Lead  Management (12%)

Lead Management  (10%)

Reporting (4%)

Best Practices (16%)

Workspaces & Partitions  under the first section: Administration & Maintenance. It's obviously very useful to have admin access to a Marketo instance to be able to get familiar with this section. If there's anyone in the group who doesn't have this access let me know and I will try to find a solution.

Alysha’s video is fantastic so check it out!  For me, to remember the differences:

Workspaces:

  • Workspaces = Separate marketing regions / brands assets
  • Use workspaces to organize marketing activities by region or brand. You can share / clone assets between them.

Lead Partitions

  • Lead Partitions = Separate contact lists.
  • Use lead partitions to ensure leads from different regions or brands don't mix.

The next important part is understanding the relationship between the two. Workspaces are given access to partitions - One workspace can have access to a single partition or many. Partitions can be assigned to multiple workspaces. How you set this up is

Documentation for Workspaces and Person Partitions

- Understanding Workspaces and Person Partitions

- Create a new Workspace**

- Create a new Partition

- Workspaces User Access

Thanks, it would be super helpful if you would consider posting a short weekly quiz on each of these categories at the end of the week.

Hi there Mentor Josh, and my fellow mentees,

I have been going through the exam guide and was a little startled at the volume and specifics around webhooks and POST, GET, HTTPS information. As a Marketo Admin, but not an architect, I have little reason to do a lot of this, do we anticipate this being on the exam?

Additionally a bit of feedback on the practice test, I find that the questions I miss are usually due to the unclear wording as opposed to my lack of understanding of the material, for example, in the question below, I was marked as having the wrong answer, however, I am not sure I agree that this question is me answering incorrectly since 0 information is provided about if the campaigns that went out prior, or are going out next, are operational emails or not. I notice I often read and re-read these questions and feel there is an element of trickery or ultra specificity that really doesn't evaluate my mastery of the material, I worry that the questions are so challenging for a native english speaker, that it must be 10x worse for non-native speakers. I was curious if Marketo would consider reviewing the practice test questions, and how they are written for better clarity and accessibility.

I 100% agree with you on the way questions are phrased (at least in the practice exam). I definitely find myself second guessing what they are trying to ask.

For this specific question, though, I can tell you why your answer was wrong (whether we know if the emails sent/being sent are operational or not). Marketo doesn't look at Lead ID when sending emails, it looks at the Email Address. So even if there are duplicate leads with the same address, it will only send once to that address. Then the first answer is just wrong - Marketo will send an email even if there is a duplicate. You kind of have to just do a little bit of crossing off answers you definitely know are wrong until there's only one choice left! Let me know if that was helpful or not! 😊

Even still,  I don't appreciate how some of the questions are written lol.

Editing to add: I just did the practice exam quickly and came across this question. As Marketo will not send multiple emails to duplicate leads, why is it even an option?

you make a good point about the lead ID too, and I also felt like that was probably the key there, but then the question you posted as having got wrong, I also got that wrong and I definitely feel it was a wording issue!
