I posted them a bit more sporadically the last 2 weeks since we were getting close to the end of the program. I will post sporadically again this week as I try to squeeze in any outstanding asks from the group based on their practice test gaps.

HI

I hope & wish there will be as we are still remaining with 1 more week of the program.

Looking forward, so we all can utilize this last week to the fullest.

I agree, a few weeks doesn't feel nearly enough to cover the information and knowledge we need to pass the test. The quizzes are helpful but wanted to see if there is a full practice/prep test we can use? I also work best in a live setting, would anyone be open to a live study session?

AshleighMo
Level 5

Hi Brenda,

5 weeks is pretty quick, I agree. I think the intent of the program is to supplement your own studying as you prepare for the exam. So the first step is taking the practice test to gauge where you are at and what areas you need some additional practice, then studying up on the topics/sections that you may not have performed as well in and asking those questions here in the group for us all to knowledge share and learn.

Are there any particular areas in which you do not feel confident that I can help expand upon this week? Have you taken the practice test? If so, can you let me know which sections were the ones you scored the lowest? (you don't have to provide your score)

uditmathur

Hi,

You use the practice test available on  Adobe Credential Management System. (Login required), go to Scheduling -> scroll down to Practice test -> select Adobe Marketo Engage expert from Launch Adobe Exam Prep Portal .

There is a full practice test of 50question time bound, hope you must have tried it, but if not you can take this.

Would have been gr8 for a live session, but don't know how feasible it might be because of the time zones  😀

AshleighMo

Yeah, I think we have quite a big difference in time zones because of the differing countries in this group.

  1. There are 2 ways to send an email, smart campaign and email send campaigns. False
  2. A static list is a list of leads that Marketo pulls together from your filter smart list criteria. False
  3. Marketer ABC is creating an event program to house event attendees from a tradeshow, or in person event, and send them an email follow-up now that the event has concluded. The program contains: an email, a smart campaign and a static list. The smart campaign smart list is set up as follows:
    1. Program is: Tradeshow Event
    1. Member of program: True

When checking the program schedule to see how many people would be sent the email, there are 0 people in the smart campaign schedule tab. Assuming the list was uploaded prior,  What is the issue?

A - The Marketer needs to create the flow steps first.

B - The Marketer should look at the control panel to view the number of leads.

C - The filter used is incorrect, it should reference the static list

D - There is no issue with the setup.

4. There are 4 program types in Marketo, what are they?

    1. Email, Event, Default, Webinar
    2. Engagement, Event, Email, Social Media
    3. Email, Nurture, Event, Default
    4. Event, Default, Email, Engagement
ggerla
Level 4
  1. False (or maybe not: if we are considering the Email program control panel OUTSIDE the smart campaign as program asset as an alternative)
  2. False (a static list is static, can be only populated with import, smart campaigns, or by API requests)
  3. The issues are different if we need to look only at the specific error:
    • The Marketer needs to upload the leads to the list first.
    • The filter used is incorrect, it should reference the static list
    • But suppose we want to see the big picture. In that case, we need to understand why there's no member in the program (like registered, attendees, no-show, etc), because, even if there is an error, the smart list should show the total members of the program, but in this case, the program doesn't have ANY member.
  4. Event, Default, Email, Engagement

Happy Monday, I am going to post a few quizzes this week (possibly all of them today) to make sure all of the content for the exam prep is covered before we end the program. I will post the answers by mid-end of week to give everyone time to review. I know the expectation is that next week everyone would be taking their exams and/or reviewing final materials, then we have the rewards! Do you all have an exam scheduled yet? Curious to hear.

Quiz #4: All about personalization / tokens - Marketing Activities

  1. A token is set up as follows:{{lead.Company Name:default=Your Company}} What is the purpose of the “default=” value in a token?
    1. Serves as a reminder to fill in the required information manually
    2. It will display exactly as written when rendering in an asset “Default=YourCompany”
    3. It will display a unique value for each lead depending on the information in that field
    4. It will display the same value for each lead based on the value after the equal sign if there is no value in the tokenized field.
  2. Where can a token be used in an email? Select all that apply
    1. Body Copy
    2. From Email Address
    3. From Name
    4. Subject Line
  3. True or false: A token can be used anywhere in an email using Marketo’s Email Builder
  4. Marketer ABC is creating an event program for a webinar their company is hosting next month via a third party platform. Marketer ABC is trying to decide which token is the appropriate one to use to deliver a unique URL to each registrant to join the webinar. Which token is the correct one to use for this situation?
    1. {{my.Webinar URL}}
    2. {{member.Webinar URL}}
    3. {{program.Webinar URL}}
    4. {{lead.Webinar URL}}
  5. My Tokens can be utilized when sending an email from Sales insight on either Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce. True or false

Fun fact: There is a naming structure for where tokens are created.

Local Token: created in that program or folder (token is local to the program)

Inherited Token: Token created up the tree in a higher level program or folder

Overridden Token: Inherited and someone made an exception in the program or folder

You can create global variables (tokens) and then override them at lower levels in the tree.

Because of this, make sure that references to tokens are not broken when you are moving programs and folders.

Hi @AshleighMo ,

  1. A token is set up as follows:{{lead.Company Name:default=Your Company}} What is the purpose of the “default=” value in a token?
    1. Serves as a reminder to fill in the required information manually - It could be this one but the original use of the default value is to populate the default value in the token if no other value is provided.
    2. It will display exactly as written when rendering in an asset “Default=YourCompany”
    3. It will display a unique value for each lead depending on the information in that field
    4. It will display the same value for each lead based on the value after the equal sign if there is no value in the tokenized field.

  1. None of the above: the default= defines a value as a placeholder in case the requested field is empty. In the mentioned case: if the company name of the lead is filled, it will be displayed, otherwise it will be rendered "Your Company"
  2. All of the above
  3. Yes
  4. {{member.Webinar URL}}
  5. False

What I hate about tokens is that there's no chance to have an instance/workspace-level token. The first level where you can create tokens is a 1st level folder in a workspace, so, if you have multiple folders in a workspace or multiple workspaces where you are using the same token, you need to recreate it multiple times (if needed).

Brenda_1040

This would actually be inherited tokens that can be set at the higher folder or program level! We use these for alerts we send to our sales folks and have a token for the email distribution list at the top folder level, so we only have to update in one place.

Inherited Token: Token created up the tree in a higher level program or folder

Hi @AshleighMo ,

As we approach the last leg of the Mentorship program, i will like to ask you if you could provide us with some high level understanding on Marketo CRM Integration.

Some points i will like to have a broad understanding will be:

  • How the integration with SFDC & Dynamics work.
  • What field can be & should be mapped.
  • How marketo campaigns be synced between SFDC/Dynamics.
  • How Marketo custom fields are mapped in CRM.

I will also request others to add to this if you feel.

TIA.

I would also like to better understand the integration with Dynamics for Marketo, as my experience has only been in Salesforce. Is it fair, at a high overview, to view it similar as how SFDC works with Marketo?

Thanks!

Hi Ashleigh,

Apologies for the late introduction. My name is Rahul Sharma (rahulsh), working as a Assistant Marketing Automation Manager with more than 5 years of Marketo working experience. I have cleared MCE exam back in 2019 but missed to renew it, so will try to clear the exam this year.

I am really excited to be mapped under you and be a part of very talented group for my preparation for the "Adobe Marketo Engage Business Practitioner Expert ".

I am looking forward to learn Marketo not just for clearing the Certification exam but also to evolve as a Marketo expert and a top leader for my company when it comes to Marketo knowledge, will focus more on Marketo Admin in future.
