Use the image ALT text to populate plain-text content in the email editor

When I use the "Copy from HTML" feature in the email editor, nothing that represents the images is copied over.  If the image ALT text exists, this should be copied over to the plain-text version.  It's frustrating to constantly modify our plain-text versions to include image representation (top banners/headers, call-to-action buttons, etc.).

Hi Dan,

I actually exclude anything that relates to the images on the plain text version. I don't really see a need to add that since there's no images on the plain text version.

Hi Michelle - what if you have a basic email that includes a header image at the top, and that header image includes the headline/purpose of the email?  Wouldn't you want to reflect that in the plain-text version so that the same content is communicated in both HTML and plain-text versions?  Below is an example.  In our plain-text version, we would want to carry over the "You need to drive innovation..." and everything else in the top banner to the plain-text version.  Same thing with the call-to-action buttons.

Dan you're right, for some of our emails that do have banner ads and top graphic logo, I do add the text for it and call to action link on the plain text version, but I guess it doesn't bug me.  But for straightforward email announcements without any banner ads and it just has images, it's not necessary for us.
