Responsive-Ready Local Forms

Responsive-Ready Local Forms

All of the developers I've worked with have said that pulling forms into our pages from the editor makes it exceptionally difficult to style and position in the code. We've been defaulting to using the embed code which allows for much more flexibility, but limits our ability to keep track of assets. It would be awesome to be able to use the embed code and tag a form to the page without it needing to be automatically recognized in the summary, or to have a better local form to work with for responsive pages.

Hi Katelyn,

Are using free-form or guided Landing Pages templates ?

Free-form pages are not responsive and use an absolute positioning technique that make them completely improper to responsive design. The only you can have with Free-form pages is a mobile version of it (the template must be mobile enabled) that will automatically ajust the form to full screen width.

For real responsive design, you should use Guided Landing Page templates. See Guided Landing Page Templates - Marketo Docs - Product Docs

Yes, if you add a form to a mobile enabled free-form landing page, it will adjust correctly when viewed on a smaller screen device. Similarly, if your form is within a guided landing page it will also adjust fine when viewed on different screen sizes.

Greg, it doesn't sound like he's using either.  I read this as being Marketo forms embedded on their external website pages.  Our Sitecore CMS developers have similarly complained in the past as well.

Hi Dan,

OK, I understand better. Sharepoint user also have issues with embedded forms (The JS are somehow not functioning).
