One set of credentials for production and sandbox (for SSO)

We'd like the ability to use one set of credentials for both production and sandbox accounts, specifically to use for single sign-on (SSO) and security reasons. Currently you're forced to use different email addresses for production and sandbox, which makes it challenging to provision, and more importantly, remove access to, Marketo.

I have access to 4 different environments: two instances each with a sandbox. I have to use my personal email address because I ran out of spoofs.

You know what's REALLY annoying? I have three versions of my work email address all tied to different logins so I get three promotional emails at a time from Marketo.

Hi Robb,

I agree. It's kind of annoying. Good news is that this problem will go away with the new feature 'Universal ID' that we are building and scheduled for a release in Summer this year.

With Universal ID, you can use single login to access multiple subscriptions and have 1 community profile so you can get emails only 1 time.

Hi Mahesh,

Did this enhancement get shipped with the Summer '16 release? I didn't see it listed in the Release notes. I found "Using a Universal ID for Subscription Login" in Product Docs but the instructions are still in progress.

Yeah, MJ - do tell when we'll have this.  Also, how will it work when people have different rights and roles in different instances?

This feature will be available in our Q4'16 release (In December).Feature is available per request. Once requested, Marketo support will validate the instances and decide if the feature will work in your Marketo setup.

Way you can request this feature is to create a support ticket in December 2nd week or onwards and ask to enable 'Universal ID' by providing the instance names where you want the feature to be enabled.

Now that it's out, would enabling this for existing users with access to multiple instances require recreating user accounts? Or what might the best process be?
