Ideas Status

I would like to submit an idea about the Ideas section of the community.  I would like to see status, or Ideas implemented by Marketo.  We have a large number of Ideas, and many could really improve the user experience within Marketo.  It would be great to see where these Ideas land on the Marketo roadmap.

I am a Linux user and there is a small community for Linux Mint that implements this sort of visibility into product development:

I think we could present something like this to our users as well.  I think this adds something to being involved in this community, makes the product more 'personal'.

Hi James,

You can see this by going to your profile, recent activity (under rewards section). Here you can see all items you've contributed to, including ideas you've voted on. You can click on them to see their status.

Also wouldn't it be great to be notified on when your idea progresses? Vote for my idea here: Ideas - alert when your idea changes stage (ex. NEW > WE LIKE IT!)

You should be notified of your idea when the status is changed. Please go into your preferences to make sure you have email turned on!

Hi Liz,

I do have email turned on in preferences. However, there is no feature for an alert that your idea has changed from "New" to another stage.

I believe what James Zeigler  is referring to is not just his own ideas but others ideas in the community and knowing when these ideas are moving through the stages.

The community want to see all ideas and what ones are in which stage. Ideally we want to see those which have made it to the stage "Working On It Now" or stage  "Coming Soon" or stage "Done!".  Filter by status is available when looking at my own ideas but there is not a filter by status when looking at the overall  Ideas page.

To give more weight to this. There is a discussion - Just do it! Marketo so-called minor missing features - by Gregoire Michel that collates so many ideas (that are time wasters, error drivers, cause compliance issues, features that don't work as they should) that has been going since January and has 209 comments over 14 pages and to date there has been no Marketo acknowledgment of the discussion and what ideas are on roadmap or working on it.  Be great for the community to know that our voices are being listened to.

Please based on the screenshots here and the fact that Overall ideas page <<nation.marketo.com/community/product_and_support/ideas/content>> cannot be filtered on idea status can you please change status of this idea from "Already Have It" to either "Maybe one day" or "We like it" and hopefully it will progress to "Coming Soon" and "Working on it Now" and "Done!" quickly.

Appreciate the note Kara. I was just referencing my idea in this idea thread since it was related.

My idea is referring to specifically a user's own ideas. When I submit an idea, it defaults to the "New" stage. If I check back in a few weeks or months, it may have moved to a new stage (ex. "We Like It") but I will never have been notified via email or a Community "blue bell" notification. So what I mean is that a user would have to remember to manually check back on their own ideas to see how Marketo has progressed them to a new stage.

Kara, thanks for the suggestion regarding filtering all Ideas based on their status. That is definitely something we are looking at as part of our improvement plan for Community. We are in very early stages now--doing research, so it will take some time but I agree completely with you that we should have this type of filter for all ideas. Thanks, again, for your feedback.
