Forms 2.0 Suggestion - Returning User

Forms 2.0 Suggestion - Returning User

I'm of course loving the new forms. I got a silly unsubscribe page that we've been kicking around waiting on the forms release to be finished.

When I unsubscribe using my info, no problem I get the proper "returning user, form replaced with HTML". But if I unsubscribe with a brand new address, one which doesn't have a First & Last name already inputted on the lead. Then i just see the form again, no cute mixtape.

It seems the returning user's HTML replacement is dependent on First, Last & Email. I know in a perfect world those three would be on every form. But there are times when it won't.
1. A lot of European countries only refer to people professionally as Mr. Last Name. They will never ask a first name.
2. On my unsusbcribe page, I just want to ask their email address, and then what they want to unsubscribe from. It's completely lame of me to ask the First & Last name of a person wishing never to be contacted again.

So theoretically you can only get to this page from an email I send you & you would have given me your first & last name already. So it's not going to be a problem. But any longtime user has seen random new email addresses be collected by their Unsubscribe page. Missing other info. People unsubscribe two addresses at once, just to be sure, or unsubscribe the wrong one. Stuff happens.

Suggestion > Remove requirement of FollowUp HTML for returning users to a form, for First, Last & Email to be filled in.

Agreed...Marketo's key field is email address, so that should be all that's required.

Great idea.

Alternatively: allow us to set what defines a known user. This would give us the most flexibility.
