Enable Engagement Programs to be archived and removed from Total EP Count

We have a limit to how many Engagement programs we can have in our instance.  When running into this issue, Marketo's answer in Support Tickets is that EP's must be deleted in order to remove them from the total count - archiving doesn't remove an EP from our calculated total.  However, this causes problems when analytics and Smart Lists are based on EP membership.  Please allow a way for Engagement programs no longer running to be archived so that we can use their membership but can create additional nurtures without having to delete historical programs.

Here's a related idea:

According to the product team (Cheryl), you shouldn't need to delete these.  And I would highly advise not deleting as this will impact your reporting and future triggered/filtered capabilities.

Dan - I believe I have heard the same from the product team, however the Support person that has handled my case has contradicted this guidance.  Fortunately, the way that I am measuring content ROI, the engagement programs I removed don't impact analytics much.  However, with the current restrictions I wouldn't bake any long-term analytics around the Engagement Program itself if you tend to use a lot of them.

Since we use Marketo programs in our EPs, the EP is nothing more than a container to automate the execution of these programs.  Still, it would be helpful if the product and support teams were better aligned on how they're communicating this out to customers.

Completely agree.  Our demand gen is being executed in the same way... the engagement program analytics only can tell us so much.  I wished that the Engagement Score (great concept) was a little more intuitive and could apply to programs inside streams and not just emails.
