Create/print/export campaign process or flow map

Create/print/export campaign process or flow map

Campaigns can get extremely complex - alerts when this happens, but not that; adding exceptions to the rules here and there, but not over here; send this email template when this happens, ETC. I found myself taking over a new campaign that is absolutely out of control. The first thing I asked was, "do you have a process map?" Of course the answer was NO. So my next question was, "OH! Can I just print the flow or process map from Marketo?" After all, THAT IS THE PROCESS MAP in virtual form! Turns out the answer was NO as well... It would be extremely helpful and efficient to be able to print process maps from the campaigns. This would allow us (and other users), to identify complexities that could be simplified, end-points, and paths or journeys that customers take throughout the campaign.

Marketo isn't quite the same as Eloqua here, even if it can be mapped as a process chart.

Instead, why not use visio or lucidchart to map out everything to understand what is happening? I find that far better than a print out or making Marketo build a whole other tool that would be very complex.

Most customers would benefit greatly from whiteboarding it out and using lucidchart well before implementation of anything.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the thought. I understand that planning a head of time is absolutely critical to setting up a successful campaign. However, I'm not sure you understand the complexity that exists currently within the campaign. Mapping this out would not only be duplicate work at this point in time, but also would be extremely time consuming. The thought is... The "map" already exists within Marketo because the rules and connections are there. Why not be able to print this out? I think it would be a great enhancing feature, especially as campaigns are tweaked, rules are added, assets are added, etc.
