Alerts emails count business days

Alerts emails count business days

Curretnly we have alerts send out when a new lead is created and have the status of "open" -- if two days pass and the lead is still open, a second alert will go out reminding the lead owner that their lead is open.

The problems with the alert system is that it will wait two days and then send out the second alert, but it does not cound business days, so a lead owner will get an alert on a Friday and then get a second alert on Monday. Can we please have the opeion to select business days only to send out alerts?

Hi Alice,

When choosing the wait step flow action, you can use advanced wait properties to choose the "duration" and  "must end on", so you can choose Mon-Fri in these settings (click on the gear icon).

Please see the commmunity article "Use a Duration in a Wait Step Flow Action" for more details: https://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000L5se

I was told by a Marketo rep on the phone today that the M-F duration counts weekend days as well. For example, if an alert goes out on Friday with a two day wait step (send second alert if lead still "open" in 2 days) set M-F, the person will get the second alert on the following monday, which makes me believe that the wait step counts Saturday and Sunday as extra days.

If I set the duration as "must end on M-F" does this count only business days?

I have lead reminders set up the way you described.
1. I do not think it counts Weekends in the wait step. I can double check with our system.
2. In all honesty, the alerts should be a good thing for sales as a reminder to follow up on the lead that came on Friday.

3. The final step of my lead reminder sends an email to their managers 2 days after the 2nd reminder - informing them of the lead and lead status has not changed.

IMO: I would not worry about the the reminder being sent and spread of days. The big concern is if the lead was followed up and action was taken.

Hi Alice,
My misunderstanding. I thought you only wanted to avoid weekends. I will like this idea!
