Ability to change email link post-send.

Ability to change email link post-send.

Silver Pop allows changes to a URL after an email is sent and the user would land on the updated URL. This would be a fantastic feature in Marketo.

Use case: As an email marketer that sent an email with an incorrect URL or parameter, I want to be able to update URLs after the email is sent so that the user gets to correct landing page when the link is clicked.

if the incorrect url is on Marketo, you can create a redirect.

You create a MKTO that has url = to wrong url. And then you say that everybody landing on this page should be redirected to new landing page. You can create redirect at the landing page level or in the Admin section. Does that make sense?

Hey Jason, as Cecile mentioned this is pretty easy to rectify in the admin section by creating a redirect. Should only take a minute to set up, so that you don't have a huge lag of time where people are going to the wrong location once you realize the link is incorrect.

This only works if the URL points to a Marketo landing page. Each email link goes to our site, but first goes to a Marketo tracking URL. It would be ideal to be able to update the redirect from the Marketo tracking URL, and this is what Silver Pop allows.

This would be a huge improvement. I've seen this feature in other email campaign systems as well. Especially since Marketo is using a redirect when generating the track-able links, allowing the sender to update the destination post send would be helpful.

Does anyone know if this has been added or implemented? Looking through community posts for similar keywords and I can't find anything that lets you do this yet...

It's not implemented.

If you were desperate, you could route your branding domain via a proxy (a drastic step, but one which gives you control over the final URL).

This is where we need social, trackable 3rd party links in Marketo, like bitly.

AFAIK, Bitlink destinations can't be changed after creation, either.  Some other shorteners do allow this, but most of them intend the URL to be either a permalink or a permanent 404 after it expires, not a fluid thing.
