Ability to CC people on "Send Email" flow action

Ability to CC people on "Send Email" flow action

This has been brought up in discussions, but I couldn't find an idea to vote on so here it is. The "Send Alert" flow action already has this functionaility (To Other Emails:), I would like to be able to do the same thing on the "Send Email" flow so I can send messages to users and CC someone else, in this case their specific account manager. Our particular business reason is for an introductory email from the CEO to all new customers. Imagine it like this:

From: ceo@symform.com
To: <new customer>
CC: <account manager>

Hi <new customer first name>,

Thanks for joining our fast-growing community! I want to introduce you to your account manager, <account manager full name> who is copied on this email. <account manager first name> will be your primary point of contact and is happy to help with whatever you need.

Etc, etc, etc

This would make it easy for the user to reply all to the email and would actually help make the message seem more personal.

I also heard a powerful use case for this in the context of executive events.   This company wants to invite executives, but to CC their Executive Administrator.  In this case, the EA's email address is a field on the lead or contact.   This customer was OK with the fact that if the EA clicked the email, it would count as a click for the Exec.

We would like to use the bcc on segments as it would allow us to place a copy of the segmentation email into the Saleforce activity record.  Does anyone know if this functionality on the product roadmap?

We would love this feature...during the "opportunity management" phase of our lead nurturing, we want the AE BCC'd on each email so they are accutely aware of when the client receives the email.

I've been able to use the "Send Alert" flow as a workaround, but this would be a much better solution!

We populate custom fields via API from an external system and then request various campaigns causing localized emails to be sent to various audiences around the world.

Some of the custom fields contain contact information for various sales reps in different regions and territories.

It would be hugely helpful to be able to BCC (or even CC) the sales rep -- using the email address in a custom field -- so that they are watching this correspondence and confirming that it is being sent correctly.

Otherwise, once our testing period is over, we have no ongoing way of spot-checking that the localized/merged data is being sent correctly.  Maybe a customer will contact us to let us know -- after we've sent a year's worth of this correspondence.

As the programmer, that makes me pretty uncomfortable. Please give us an easier way to have confidence that relatively complex processes like these are working on an ongoing basis.

Thanks!

I think this is a good idea, but my concern is that users would cc an email going out to 10k (or 100k) leads without considering the consequences, and then cause their company's email server to crash from the traffic.

If Marketo implements this, it'll need validation so it has a limit on the number of leads in a single campaign (maybe ~50 or ~100) if there's a cc in the email. I don't know the hurdles they'd have to work around to do it, but my instincts are telling me it's probably a lot more complicated than it sounds.

I definitely see how this would be a useful feature, though.

If the concern is that a large amount of contacts would be sent an email through a campaign blast, can we limit the BCC field to sales emails so that the functionality is at least there for MSI? MSI sales emails are usually sent as one-offs, and not having MSI emails logging in the activity history is a real dealbreaker for the reps we have. We want to use so many MSI licenses, but we can't justify it without this simple feature.

It's insane that this is not a standard feature.

This would be very valuable for one of our use cases. We have a custom integration with our CRM platform which sends lists over to Marketo along with executive assistant information. It would be GREAT to be able to dynamically Cc the EAs on the emails because we design them to appear very personal and they come from the executive's email address. It is very common in the executive world for EAs to be Cc'd and to be the ones actually doing a lot of the inbox management.

I'm honestly quite surprised Marketo does not have this feature. I have worked with several marketing systems that do have it; ExactTarget being one of them. Is this on the roadmap at all??

This is critical functionality. Can't reiterate how important this is, especially for big customers.
