Global assets for workspaces

Hi PMs,

The ability to use global assets across workspaces would be amazing! My use case is, I have 40 workspaces in Marketo that I'd like to be able to share assets. Instead I had to create 40x, which was very time consuming. Not to mention, if anything changed with those assets, I'd have to udpate them 40x.

It would be great if I could create one folder with global assets to share across all 40 workspaces.

Hi Liz,

Can you be more specific with the type of asset?  Are you referring to programs, in particular?

Yes of course! When building out the workspaces I use for user groups, I had to create a 'fake' global folder in each workspace that contains the user group form, a global thank you page, and the larger regional smart list per region. If these items were global across workspaces, I would have been able to pull in the form and thank you page (as I did when I managed the MUGs in our default instance) instead of cloning them 40x each and placing them into folders.

This is the same for the segmented user lists by region. Instead of cloning them each into the respective workspaces, I could have just pulled it from our default into the smart list.

We are about to implement workspaces at Marketo and this woudl be very very helpful!

Love to see a Marketo employee submitting this - Thanks Liz!  This is so sorely needed for those of us with many workspaces (we have 24).  While we can share email/landing page templates, images and snippets, that's where it ends.  Can't share forms, emails, landing pages, etc.  And even when those assets are shared - like email and landing page templates, Marketo does not allow you to mass-reapprove the assets in those workspaces that are based on those shared templates.

Is it possible to create a Marketo umbrella workspace for all the global assets and so that they can be shared across all workspaces?... assuming that each of the workspaces would have access to the global workspace, as you set it up

Unfortunately, no.  Nothing has changed since my comment from back in 2014.
