Thanks Josh. Makes sense but the situation is a bit different as the domain change is due to acquisition. So the domain is well establish, just new to us.

Marketo support has access to SFDC sync logs to help diagnose when the sync is lagging behind and what seems like information on the type/number of changes queued to process.
