Why is email branding domain giving me a "no cname error" when SPF/DKIM is already verified?

Hi,

We have verified a new subdomain to send emails from and have DNS records created for this subdomain and all the SPF/DKIM/DMARC verified and setup.

But when I try to Add the new subdomain as a branding domain under Admin > Emailit gives me the following error:

pastedImage_2.png

I don't understand how this is possible given the that this branding domain is a subdomain related to a domain that is active and has a CNAME.

Can anyone help me understand this better? How is it possible that it's giving me this error if the domain does in fact have a CNAME and the subdomain is all setup correctly (including verified in Admin > Email > SPF/DKIM.

If you're experienced in this area, you can probably tell that I don't know much about domains, so bare with me!!

Thanks,

-Leticia

The branding domain is the link tracking. You'll need a cname to your branding domain 'mkto-123456xxx.com', which you'll find in the Admin console.

It isn't really related to SPF/DKIM at all, so ignore that.

This can't be answered if you don't supply your actual domains.

I assume it has to do with Leticia's other attempt Can we not use the landing page domain as our email branding domain?

Yes it does! Thank you Sanford.

I hadn't realized that we need, in effect, 1) a landing page domain, 2) an email domain to send from, and also 3) a separate domain to be the branding domain (which requires a cname --different from the one we created for the landing page domain!!).

Lesson learned!!!

Thanks so much for your help.
