Changes data value triggers have a "Source" constraint which drop list shows no value. Looking at the details of a changed data value in the activity log does not show any "source".

What is it supposed to contain ?

It refers to the Source Type of the change, such as Web Form Fillout, Web Service API...etc.

I think Marketo is using the same list for Source as they do for Source Type in Lead was Created, done a few tests and I seen results: Understanding System Managed Fields - Marketo Docs - Product Docs.

I would like to pick up this topic again, maybe we should just involve support for it.

I have been able to confirm that "sfdc" is an accepted value for source and "salesforce.com" is not...

Did this behavior change over the years maybe?

The following list throws 0 results ("salesforce.com")

Whereas this list shows results ("sfdc")

I was trying to determine whether a change was made manually or automatically (using "is" or "is not" on "sfdc")

I have been able to confirm the following constraints:

  • Web Form Fillout
  • Web Service API
  • Marketo Flow Action (not entirely sure if actual smart campaigns are under this umbrella, but automatic processing of segment placing is)
  • sfdc

Has anyone confirmed that the SOURCE constraint - when used in a DVC trigger - will indeed work just like the "SOURCE TYPE" constraint of the "Person is Created" trigger?  I don't understand why there isn't a drop-down of standard values when using this in a DVC trigger (which makes it more error prone).

Dan, I've tested a few different sources in the Source field and it was working for me, we don't get a dropdown list, but if you use "Registration Source Type" from the link I shared above, it should trigger what you want. I.E. If Avanade Opt-in was set to true from a Web Form Fillout, then you would set the source to Web Form Fillout in the Data Value Change Source.

Great - thanks for confirming Frank!

I'm having this same issue as well. No idea how to fill that out...

Thx Kenny,

This is what it does, but the drop list is empty, making it very difficult to use it.

Same for me. There is nothing showing in the dropdown list for "Source."
