what is the best option for Workspace and lead partition?

Hi all,

We are gonna start workspace and lead partition. Now we have multiple products in our organisation, we would like to keep separate partition for every product (may be in future product with region wise). 

What is the best option to do this? Shall we use different munchkin code based on workspace for every product? or shall we use the assignment rule in partition? If we use assignment rule it says initial partition. What does that(initial partition) mean? What would happen if a prospect changes from one product to another product? will it be added to the respective partition or will it be remain in same partition?

I would recommend using Workspaces, but only 1 Lead Partition. A Lead can only be in 1 partition, and that causes several challenges in case you have more than 1 partition. Only if you have 2 completely separate business units that work in complete isolation, I would recommend using partitions.

Thanks for your explanation Jep, we are gonna use 1 lead partition in 1 workspace for a product. My Question is if a prospect changes from one product to another will that lead be in both partition or on the new product partition?

Shall we use same default munchkin code for our website and use assingment rule to change the lead partition or different munchkin code for every Workspace/Product. what is the best option for our setup?
