Hi!
Is there a way in Marketo to opt out a user from ALL emails, including transactional/service ones?
If so, how?
We also have a Salesforce.com integration, and right now we only have an option to opt users out of marketing emails.
If there's a way in Marketo to opt a user out of ALL emails, how does this get reflected in Salesforce.com if we don't have that option?
Thank you for your help!
Emily

Hi Emily,
In this case, in addition to using the Unsubscribe field, you'll also want to check off the Black Listed field for this particular record--this also prevents the record from receiving operational emails. As you noted, this isn't generally reflected in Salesforce, but you could always create a "twin" field that would record this for you in Salesforce as well if you need to keep the record in SFDC.

Hi Courtney, wow, THANK YOU so much for a quick, detailed response. I appreciate your help!
Where do you do this in Marketo for a particular user?
e.g. how do I look up the email address, "emily@yahoo.com" in Marketo and check the boxes to opt out of both marketing and the black list?
Thank you!
Hi Emily,
If you go to the "Database" section of Marketo, you'll see when that page loads there's a search box in sort of the middle left section. Type in the email address that you want to look up. It should return the record you're looking for, and there'll be a number under the ID column. Click on that number, and under Lead Info you should see both options.
Thank you Courtney! You're a rock star
