Is there anyway to create alerts for visited landing page for known leads?
Yes, just create a smart campaign with a smart list that contains he trigger visits web page, and then list the pages or simply use the contains operator to generalize the filter.
In the flow step you can send and alert to the lead owner or to a specific set of individuals
Thanks! ... and then if i want to set that alert up for a lead visiting ANY page, is there a field to token-feed into the alert that specifies what was the last page visited?
You don't want a trigger on every Visited Web Page activity. That will overload your instance. Be sure to set the SC to not allow refiring within the same day (or longer).
The token you're looking for is {{trigger.web page}}.
Elizabeth,
Certainly. What you can do is create a trigger "visits web page" and a filter "lead is created" (this ensures it is not an anonymous lead). The flow for the smart campaign can be to "send alert".
Once I create a trigger "visits web page", can the flow be "send an email"? I have this set up but it's not working, even though I tested by visiting the web page in question.
Shelley,
It can, just make sure you use the smart list filter for "lead is created". Make sure in the "Schedule" tab to ensure leads can go through a certain number of times.
I would brainstorm this process though as if you trigger off of a web page visit, you could potentially have hundreds of leads receiving emails all at once.
Hi Devraj
Thank you for the reply. I'm taking another stab at this now and am running into the same issue of not being able to put the landing page url in the trigger. It gives me a red line. Am I doing something wrong?
Elizabeth,
Are you copying and pasting the URLs into the right field or selecting them from the left dropdown? I advise selecting them from the left dropdown to ensure there are no typos or URL discrepancies.
yes i'm copying and pasting. If it were an email I could select tha that visits we page has nothing to reference. There are over 300 landing pages i would never find it
In this particular case, the red line doesn't mean the trigger isn't functional. Make sure you're entering the URL starting with just the hostname (i.e. without the http:// or https://). Backspace out to save the rule. Then test with a real visit.
i tested it and it didn't work
Is it a Marketo-hosted page? For landing pages hosted in Marketo, you want to use the actual name of the page in Marketo, whereas non-marketo pages (i.e. hosted by your web team) should use the URL without the "https://".
If it's a Marketo hosted landing page, just search for the actual asset name:
You don't have to worry about the URL of the page.
