Hi
I am new to setting up UTM parameters. I created hidden fields (utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign) in SFDC and synced to MKTO. I added these hidden fields in the form as well.
Please advise on the ways how I can set up effective tracking campaigns in SFDC and MKTO?
Thanks,
Vipula
Hi Vipula,
So you have gone through the first basic steps successfully
There are a lot of threads about attribution and UTM usage, do a quick search, some blog posts are really insighful.

One other UTM you might want to setup is UTM_CID or campaign ID, and store the SFDC Campaign ID there.
If you are creating separate SFDC campaigns for each channel, that ID can put it into the correct one.
So your smart campaign flow step would be Add to SFDC Campaign = {{lead.utm_CID}} and then the status.
Thanks Darrell
Should I match Channel to Type(Standard field in SFDC)? I am little confused here.
So you are suggesting that I create a Parent Campaign for Paid Search and add my 3 google AdWords campaigns under that parent campaign?
Yes you should match those. And yes it is a good idea to have them be child campaigns under a parent campaign.
Thanks, Greg.
I am searching for community from last week but still not able to figure out things like
1. In my email, I offer different contents like a whitepaper or tip sheet etc. How to set up the campaign in MKTO and SFDC to track UTM parameters.
2. I have 3 different ads running on google. I created a form with hidden fields for UTMs but how can I track which add leads/people are clicking more.
So the problem is mapping MKTO campaign to SFDC campaign.
If someone can share the examples that would be great.
Hi again,
First, Last and Multi Touch attribution for UTM parameters and auto tagging emails
Now, do not expect Marketo to provide the same reporting as Google Analytics
