Using Marketo Email Code With Other Email Providers

Hello, 

We have some members from our sales department that would like to use the source code from our Marketo Emails for their Salesloft emails. My immediate thought is this would be a bad idea. I know it is possible to plug the HTML code into other email providers, but are there any reasons why we would not want to use Marketo email code with other email providers? 

My concern is how the custom Marketo email is coded and how it will render if the email is not sent through Marketo, especially since this is a custom-coded email and uses Marketo syntax.

Of course, we would strip the Marketo email of all tokens and URLs before pulling the HTML/CSS, but what else should I be considering?

Your intuition is spot-on: remove all Marketo-specific dialect (tokens, variables) and you’ll be fine.
