updating MKTO color palette

is there a way to update color palettes in MKTO and replace them with your own brand colors when creating LP/Email templates?

We do this by creating a mktoVariable that presents a restricted palette of primary/secondary (and maybe tertiary) colors, then hiding the color picker because I want to ensure they can only choose brand colors:

Hi @SanfordWhiteman -- I'm aware this is an old thread but I'm really keen on how to replicate this. Been playing around with script variables and mktoColor code but can't seem to get it to pull through! Just want to be able to pre-populate the custom colour fields with brand colours.

Ah, this old one! Unlike other semi-hacks I post on the Products Blog it’s too extreme — as moderator it’s especially inappropriate for me to post it. I have the JS still around if you want to DM me and get on a Zoom to discuss it.

Sanford - where can I get more information on how to do that?

I don't think there's any one-stop place to learn how to do it. I've never gotten a chance to blog about (too many other things) but you have to be quite good w/JS in the browser.

This thread seems to be missing some parts.  Sanford Whiteman, where are you creating mktoVariables and how are you hiding the color picker?  Is this within the template?

It's within the template, but the color picker is in the editor pane (Variables section).

And I am eliding the quite special JS in the template that makes this work.

This blows my mind... I need to go down the rabbit hole & figure out how you do this.

Somewhere down there is a tiny door marked "parent" and bottle of JavaScript that says "RUN ME."   、., ⌒ 、., ⌒ 、., ⌒ 、., ⌒ 、., ⌒ 、., ⌒ /( =゚ェ゚=)ヽ

refer to the screenshot - how do you update those empty boxes at the bottom where it says "custom" and add your own brand colors?

I think I misunderstood your question in my previous response. Click on the word "Custom" to go to the palette, where you can select colors or enter hex codes. Once you choose "Apply" for the colors you want, they will auto-fill in those boxes for easy use in the asset.

Thanks Brooke - but will those colors work when I create a new email or is it only specific to that certain email? I'd like for it to update globally.
