So your smart list was setup to listen for the wrong conditions, possibly the wrong email, or it wasn't activated in time.

In my first test i ran, the SFDC campaign i was using was also apart of another program somewhere (not related to the email program i was using) and therefore, it could not be updated in my flow steps. So i created a brand new campaign and it then worked fine. statuses mapped perfectly.
In my 2nd test, i noticed the email was not correct. the user had cloned the email campaign vs creating it from scratch so i had no idea how to troubleshoot. Thanks for all your help guys!
