Hey All,
I have a webhook that can send SMS messages from Marketo using Twilio but am now looking for a similar method for sending Facebook and WhatsApp messages. Has anyone successfully used Twilio Notify to send WhatsApp or Facebook messages? How does it work?
Are there any plug-ins/tools outside of Twilio that make it possible to send multiple message types (other than SMS)?
Thanks!
Trevor
@Trevor_Parsell @Nicholas_Manojl @Marek_Hozák my company Telnyx has just launched a Whatsapp API: https://developers.telnyx.com/docs/api/v2/whatsapp
You can integrate this into Marketo webhooks as you would do normally when integrating with Twilio. If you want a Telnyx specific example of how to call the Telnyx API from a Marketo webhook then you can see this post: https://theworkflowpro.com/marketo-text-messaging/
Here is the product page to give you more info about it: https://telnyx.com/products/WhatsApp-api
There are also plans to integrate with Facebook Messenger in the near future.
Hi Trevor,
have you figured out how to send Whatsapp or FB messages via Marketo? I am interested in using the same now.
Thanks for letting me know.
Marek
Thanks, Josh and Nicholas!
So it sounds like there isn't a clear way to do WhatsApp or Facebook message sends from Marketo without some major customization. If anyone has experience using Zapier (or another tool) to send Whatapp/Facebook messages please let me know.
Thanks!
You could probably use Zapier to do this more effectively or more cheaply.
I just went to see if Zapier had an action for either WhatsApp or Twilio - the former, nothing, the latter didn't feature a WhatsApp integration.
I wouldn't be surprised if both WhatsApp and Messenger require some hefty integrations using Facebooks app platform.. I can't imagine they'd allow you to lookup up a lead via an email address.. instead they'd need you to connect your page and search for a fan/like within*.
*just guessing.
