Tracking email answering

Hi dear community,

Is there any way to track the fact that a lead has answered to an email sent by Marketo ? We have set a drip campaign that sends 3 emails in 3 weeks, but if a lead makes an answer we would want to remove him from the drip campaign.

I haven't seen any trigger that would be like this.

Could you help us ?

No solution to this with Marketo itself. Look into the launchpoint solution exists that can do this (although tricky, as it means setting up a specific email address that receives the answer and process it).

It is possible to do this in a roundabout way:

  • Setup a Campaign to listen for Campaign is Requsted from Sales Insight
  • Tell Sales to use Add to Campaign if this happens (or you do this)
  • when the lead responds to the email box, you (or sales), use that Add to Campaign to remove the person from the Nurture track.
  • If you really wanted, you could keep a list with Add to List to track responses.

One thing I have done in the past is to put links in the email that are the answer.  Click Yes if you want to sign up for the newsletter, click yes if you want to register for the event etc....  Then you can use those link clicks to remove them from the campaign.
