Sudden Drop in Click %

Thoughts on why we might see a 3-4% drop in % clicked email and 10-15% drop in click/open percentage compared to our newsletters previous 3 months? Other than content the only thing we changed was who it came from.

Previous months 30% of recipients got it from their account owner, the rest received it from Marketing@. This month that number flipped, 30% received it from Marketing@, the rest received it from their account owner.

Any suggestions/thoughts are welcome.

Re: Sudden Drop in Click %

Well, there could be a number of possible reasons for reduction in the email engagements, like:

1. How your audience has changed over the course of 3 months? In case you've acquired lot of poor quality leads/added people via purchased list, etc. - the overall email deliverability, inbox placement, opens, and clicks can take a toll.

2. Changing the content of email making it more spam prone, e.g., increasing the image to text ratio, including spammy words, adding too many links, etc. can contribute to not letting your email appear in the primary inbox of the recipient in the first place, there-by affecting your overall email metrics, opens and clicks.

3. Sending too many emails in a short span of time, repeatedly sending emails to a non-engaging audience can also affect your email reputation and the engagement metrics.

4. With more people getting emails from their Account owner than the Marketing @ seems like a thing that'll boost the email engagements, but above items and other email deliverability best practices also have a role to play in overall email engagements.

Also, out of curiosity did you happen to switch on the filter bot activities recently?
