We encountered an SFDC sync failure on most of the synched contacts in marketo due to a new custom validation rule that was created on account object just 3-4 days ago. We are unable to get the exact volume of data affected, but looking into the marketo db, when I randomly checked few of the records, every other record seems to be affected.
The strange thing is that validation is not applicable on any of the marketo records as it's on account level and marketo cannot update any account data, and neither marketo is trying to update any of the fields on which the validation rule is applied, and it does not even contain any bad data.
The weirdest thing what I found is the regular sync( or auto-sync) is failing when any contact in marketo is trying to initiate a sync cycle. However it works when we manually sync the records.
Has anyone come across any such issues? Any help appreciated!
