sent email activity type in SFDC

We have our sales team pushing emails via sales insight and we are seeing the "was sent" activity in our activity history but the details are showing the sent email as type=call. Does anyone know where it's pulling that data from and how I would change that to email?

To save you the click: you add a special word/phrase/number to the task subject or description and Salesforce will evaluate the record and change the type when it is created.
