Send Marketo email without adding contacts to Marketo database

Hi Marketo community,

I have a question fo you and hoping you could help me out.

I'd like to send a Marketo email to a list of contacts without adding them to Marketo database. What is the best way of doing it?

Thank you in advance.

Olya

This is not possible.

Remember that your Marketo subscription is based on the number of people in your database.

For a limited set of contacts, you could use "Send Alert" flow step. Of course  you will not get tracking.

One potential workaround depending on how many other things you have running in Marketo that they would fire on -- If you have space in your database, even temporarily, and if you're not worried about any metrics on the email, you can set up your flow to import list, send email, wait, and then delete the leads from Marketo once the email is delivered.  We've done this for tradeshow leads that are not marketable for our subsidiary, but used the email to direct leads to their local subsidiary and then purge them from our Marketo instance.
