Hi, I am new to the Salesforce and Marketo integration. My settings show that integration is working as it should, but when I select Salesforce Campaign Sync on a program, I have two problems.
1. If I select one of the campaign options that pops up, I get the error message 'Salesforce Campaign Sync is initializing. Please allow up to an hour before syncing programs'.
This same message has been appearing for days now so I have allowed much more than an hour!
2. The campaign dropdown only has a few options within it - not all the active campaigns visible when I check on the Salesforce side.
Has anyone experienced either of these issues?
Hi @ashaw_72, please establish your salesforce connection again.
If you still face issue, please let us know.
The "Salesforce Campaign Sync is initializing" error persisting for days typically means a stuck sync process, incorrect user permissions, or API call issues. First, check Admin > Integration > Salesforce in Marketo to ensure the sync is running without errors. If needed, force a manual sync or refresh the schema to update campaign data. Also, verify that the Marketo Sync User in Salesforce has the necessary read/write access to Campaigns, Campaign Members, Leads, and Contacts and can modify data.
For the issue of missing campaign options in the dropdown, ensure the Salesforce campaigns are Active, have Member Status values defined, and are not Archived. Additionally, you could also confirm that the sync user has visibility into all campaigns under Salesforce Setup > Sharing Settings.
If the issue persists after trying the above items and waiting for a bit for the sync to refresh, you should raise a support ticket.
As an additional note to @Darshil_Shah1 post - something that I've seeing for missing campaigns in the picklist is if the campaigns' "PARENT" in SFDC isn't active. This will impact Marketo's ability to see the child campaign. If you are using a parent/child campaign relationship in in SFDC then making sure all of the campaigns in the hierarchy are active. Maybe not the issue here but something to look for.
