I'm working on UX improvements and form changes to our live preference centre. I obviously don't want to work with the existing page since it's live and needs to remain functional as currently designed until we're ready to switch over. My question is this - can I switch out the URLs so I don't need to update any existing templates and other internal documentation links or do I need to create a new URL for these pages? Once a URL is assigned to a landing page is it forever tied to that LP? Can I rename the existing ones "-OLD" and reuse the existing URL for the new pages?
What's best practice here? What are the risks?
You absolutely can do what you describe: change the URLs under the URL Tools menu when you're ready to roll out.
There will be a split-second perhaps where your prod URL is unavailable, but that's it.
Thanks Sanford. I thought that might be too easy. Happy to hear that it IS that easy.
