Possible to change the hint text color on forms?

We have a form that is mostly text fields with hint text instead of field labels. We have two select fields with default values.  The issue is that the color of the hint text is light grey and the color of the default value in the select fields is black. Is there anyway we can control either one of these values so that the form text is the same color throughout?

You should be able to with CSS on the page. Is this form inside Marketo or are you using the API?

We're using a marketo form with custom CSS, but we cannot figure out how to make a CSS rule for hint text specifically. Do you know how to reference this?
