PDF downloads immediately in Chrome but locks up during download in IE

I have a landing page where a lead fills out a form to download a pdf. The process works perfectly in Chrome but the PDF locks up during download in IE. Any suggestions how to get it to work with IE?

is your pdf named with dashes instead of spaces?

It could also just be IE. Odd.

I suspect it is a browser problem more than anything...  What version of IE are you using?  

There are some message boards online that do address PDF issues with various versions of IE, here are a couple:

Keep in mind if browser settings are the culprit it's pretty much up the end users to update their own settings on IE, so there won't be much you can do, unfortunately.

Josh: The pdf does not contain any dashes but thank you for reminding me of that bit of knowledge. It's easy to overlook. 

Nate: I use IE 11. Thank you for providing the message board information. I will review it now. 

It turns out that the problem is with our network and the size of the file being downloaded.

Glad you found the culprit, Lana.  I'm surprised that if it was a network issue, it somehow worked on Chrome but not IE...strange indeed!
