Hi! First post here. Looking for some advice on how to best use Programs in the following context.
We send a monthly newsletter. Presently we open a new SFDC campaign and create a new email program for each instance due to the 1:1 relationship between SFDC campaigns and programs. My ideal outcome is that multiple monthly iterations of this email newsletter could be associated with the same SFDC campaign. Is there a way to better use or structure programs to achieve this? Note that unlike a drip or nurture where the entire program is locked from the beginning, we create these newsletters ongoing and one at a time.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
So my big question is Why?
What does this data do for you in SFDC? That will determine a path forward.
The short answer is to not sync your Marketo Program 1-1 to SFDC Campaigns. As part of the Send smart campaign, you can use the Add to SFDC Campaign > Sent if you wanted. That offers you better control anyway.
Thanks, Josh.
the information is useful in SFDC for non-marketo users to see what activities people are associated with. We don't need performance analytics or anything deep. Thanks for the suggestion here.
I would ask the same question w.r.t. using SFDC campaigns 1-1 with the Email program. A common SFDC campaign can be associated with monthly Newsletter series and using Add to SFDC flow step you can sync the members who are engaging with the newsletter.
You can scale up Email programs by using relevant tags and program statuses (making sure they match with the statuses of the SFDC campaign). You can have program templates handy for the monthly newsletter which should include the necessary elements such as email template, audience list/s, reports, tags & channel, and program status tracking campaigns for stages like Send, Opened, Clicked, Influenced, etc.
