I'm adding programs to a Nurture Stream and have a quick question on the Member of Engagement Program Smart Campaign.

Smart List: Member of Engagement Program true; Program IS __________

Flow: Add to Engagement Program ________, Stream _________

         Send Email _____________

My question is, does the "Send Email" need to be a part of the flow, or will the program automatically send out the email in the Engagement Stream?

Just wondering for the sake of not being redundant.

Thanks!

The Program needs a separate smart campaign that says

if member of Engagement X is TRUE...

Flow: Send Email or whatever....

this runs independently of the Stream once it is triggered.

I think JD is referring to a situation where you drop an email into the Stream and then also have the same email in a program.

Awesome - that's what I was trying to figure out, wasn't sure if I need the "Send Email" flow or if the email would automatically send once the Program was triggered. Thanks!

Are you putting this program in the stream of an engagement program?

Yes, adding the program to the stream of an engagement program

you don't need the additional send email in your flow if it's in your engagement stream; that would only duplicate things. Just know that your engagement settings will determine when the email is sent, it may or may not be instantaneous (if it's set to send on Tuesdays, for example).  Always make sure to test things before you launch them anyway...
