Hey y'all,
My team is running into an issue with our SFDC and Marketo Sync / Database. We were recently over compliance and deleted a lumpsum of records, however the next morning we discovered that they have all re-uploaded. We want to be able to sync records that interact with our marketing content but delete records that we have been wanting to delete and not have them re-sync through our systems. Has anyone ran into something like this? Seems like a vicious cycle we are trying to get out of.
Solved! Go to Solution.
So its possible (and not to hard) to setup a "do not sync" field and use that to tell SFDC what records not to sync back to Marketo. You will need to work with Adobe Support on this, but its actually pretty straightforward.

Did you delete them from Marketo or SFDC?
I'm assuming you're over compliance in Marketo and deleted them there. But correct me if I'm wrong. I find it more typical that Marketing (Marketo) would have more records than the Sales platform (SFDC) due to the natural shape of most marketing funnels.
If the records are saved/updated in SFDC, it will automatically sync to Marketo, so you'll want to pay attention to the other processes and data sources that might be modifying or enriching your SFDC data.
There are a lot of threads about controlling the flow of records from Marketo to SFDC, however:
