Magento Integration within Marketo

Hi All,

 

Hope all are doing great !!!

 

We are unfamiliar with the Marketo tool and have a question regarding the integration of Magento with Marketo.

 

Is there any way to flow Magento data into Marketo ? Do we need to use 3rd party connectors to achieve this ? If yes then how do we integrate that connector in marketo to automate this process ? 

 

Clients are interested in implementing a cart abandonment use case, which involves capturing the data in Magento of customers who abandon their shopping carts and ensuring that this data seamlessly flows into Marketo to trigger automated communication.

 

Please guide and advise.

This is a request that cannot be fulfilled on this board. You will have to bring your Magento and your Marketo people to the table and map out the process. You will need to set up the connection, the orchestration and eventually the nurture process in Marketo, which most likely uses Custom Object data to populate email content. A lot of skill and thought will need to flow into this task.

 

You might even come to the conclusion that Marketo is not the perfect delivery mechanism for this flow. Abandoned Cart is typical B2C use case. It has certainly been done with Marketo, but it's not the most natural solution. If you want to stay in the Adobe world, consider looking at the Adobe Journey Optimizer.

 

This is a complex process. Don't expect a quick turnaround.

Hi @neelambakre, as Michael very accurately says, there isn't an OOTB/plug-and-play integration for this just yet. Having said that, this can certainly be pulled together using APIs, a custom object, some custom development, and a trigger smart campaign. You could basically add a custom object record when a person abandons the cart with all the details sent in the CO (we coalesced all the data into a JSON string and wrote it to a CO text field). Use velocity script to display the email content dynamically using the CO record data. And, of course, addition of a record to the CO can then trigger a cart abandonment email send.
