How (or why) do leads get added to our Marketo System List called Blacklist?  Once they are on that list it is not possible to email them from any campaign. We have a number of leads on Blacklist who I know are valid contacts and valid email addresses but I can't see anything we've done to add them there.  I see that I can remove leads from Blacklist by setting blacklist = false in the lead - is there a risk in doing this?

Hey Wendy,

Check the Activity Log of a particular record and search for "Black List." When you find the line item, you will be able to see which campaign changed the value to True. 

The only risk of changing Black List to false is that you could potentially email someone your company does not want receiving emails. This functionality most often is used to prevent competitors from receiving your email communications.

Do you mean there's a campaign that manages when leads are added to the Blacklist smart list?  I haven't been able to find one, any clues?
