I am looking at options to begin some type of lead to account matching in Marketo. Essentially what I am attempting to accomplish is set up a program that will append/auto fill in lead data based on the company/domain address.
Example:
New lead from Nike is created. Program sees that there is an Account already in SFDC for Nike. It takes certain data from the account and auto fills in lead fields.
Any suggestions or even links to agencies that might be able to assist here. Thanks

Just FYI, lead-to-account matching will most likely be supported in Marketo as a standard functionality in upcoming releases in 2016. ABM is a one of the focused topic of 2016 product roadmap.
Pl. feel free to reach out to me directly on mjeswani@marketo.com for more details on this topic or any other ABM topic.
I would suggest to also create an IDEA on this topic. This helps in prioritization of the feature.
Thanks,

Hi Robert, do you synch your leads to SFDC immediately? I am not sure if you can create a logic to look for existing accounts in Marketo, but I am curious if there can be a logic built within SFDC
Hi Ashley,
Yes the leads are synced automatically.
Hi Robert,
I suggest you look at the services offered by FuzzyMatchCompanyNames.com website. They map a new lead against SFDC account. There may be other vendors offering the same as well.
Thanks
Hi Robert,
I suggest you ask Scott K. Wilder if this discussion can be merged with this one Lead to Account Mapping as they are exactly the same (You apparently posted it twice).
Not very convenient to follow both streams. I personally have be puzzled for a few minutes, wondering where my answers were or if I had dreamed answering you, which would have been a concerning dream

Hi Gregoire,
I agree however I am not sure how to contact him about this. When I click on his contact link I do not see any area to message him regarding this.

If Nike (as per the example) is already an Account in Salesforce, and you get a new lead (Marketo lead, I take it) that comes in, and this lead in turn becomes a Salesforce lead, isn't it best practice to simply take that Lead (Salesforce) and turn it into a Salesforce Contact on the Nike Account? You would have to do this in Salesforce, and it would take somebody going through your Salesforce leads periodically to clean them out / assign them to Accounts, if that's where they belong. I would think that, if you have things set up this way, the Account fields should come in to Marketo if the Marketo Lead is joined to a Salesforce Contact that belongs to a particular Account.
Hi Matt,
Thanks for the reply. In your example you assumed correct. The new lead comes in from Marketo and is sync'd to SFDC creating a lead. It would be nice if it was as easy as turning it into a contact and tying it up to the existing account (sales team is finding is difficult) with multiple Account match possibilities already in the system. Forgot to mention we might have multiple Nike accounts already due to them converting leads and creating new accounts. Yes the account fields will come in to Marketo if the Marketo lead is joined to a Salesforce Contact that belongs to a particular account however we are trying to append account level fields to the lead before it is converted to set up nurturing programs and display ads based on the fields.
Thanks for your input here.

I feel your pain. I'm going to continue to research. I use SF as well.
