Importing a list with bad emails

Looking for recommendations. We delete bad email address, however when we import a new list, the bad emails will be imported again. If we do not delele the bad emails, then they count towards our contracted amount of leads from MKTO. Looking for suggestions.

Hey Sandy,

How do you define bad? Can you provide a little more information?

Re: Importing a list with bad emails

Create a new workflow for deleting bad emails.

In the Smartlist do the following:

Lead is Created Trigger + Email address is any filter. In the filter paste in all of the bad email addresses. In the workflow do a delete lead step.

As you clean your DB in the future do an export of all the bad email addresses and add their respective values to your filter.

Doing this will ensure if those leads ever get imported or added again that they are automatically deleted.

Our definition of bad emails are as follows:
  • Someone that has left the company
  • alternate email addresses for the same person

Yes so you would create a smart list that captures the Invalid email addresses and use the steps I outlined above if you don't want to keep them in your provisions and don't want them to come back. - Jeff
