We're sponsoring an event and their people have a rule that we can only send 1 email to their registrants. So far, I cannot seem to come up with a way to import the list and ban them from receiving other emails.
How should I go about importing the list into Marketo, but preventing them from automatically entering our nurtures/upcoming emails?

Mark them as Marketing Suspended after emailing them.
There’s no way to stop them from qualifying for all other smart campaigns/programs. But Marketing Suspended will stop them from actually receiving non-operational emails.
Generally, you should not have any smart campaigns that automatically pick people up just because they were added to a static list. Part of campaign management is making sure everything has a defined entry and exit point!
