Re: HTML source editor

Is anyone else experiencing this issue:

Open an email in the Edit mode, double-click an editable section to bring up the visual editor, then click on the HTML option in the menu. For me, the HTML source editor window is  empty (i.e., no code)!

Just checking in for confirmation that this is a problem, or whether I am missing something? Any input would be welcome!

Thank you,

Fran Salvacion

Chrome is usually always the culprit in situations like this!

Hi

In this morning, I found this issue has been resolved at newest Chrome.

Try Chrome Version 43.0.2357.81 (64-bit).

I also had this issue, as did everyone on my team - any HTML editor would appear blank. We were all using Chrome and logged a Marketo support ticket about it.

They told us to clear our browser caches and that did the trick for all 3 of us.

Thanks for that update Kassia Wilhelm!

Frances Salvacion, if clearing the cache works for you, you should mark Kassia's response as the correct answer.  Happy Marketing and HTML editing!

Thanks Jace! To be honest, clearing the cache did not work for me initially. But for whatever reason, the HTML editor is now back on-line in Chrome. I'll mark Kassia's comment too, though.

I can confirm that the HTML editor looks blank on Chrome, both on OSX and Windows 7. Works fine in Firefox, so I suggest that as a temporary solution.

Is there actually text or an image in that section already?

If not, you shouldn't get much in the html editor.

Curious - I was just in the Custom HTML Editor for graphics, which appears to work fine using my Chrome browser vs. the problem with the HTML Source Editor.

I just checked my HTML code in an email and I see my code there. Maybe contact support?

Thank you for responding Eumee! I've narrowed it down to some Google Chrome browser issue on my Mac.

Rob Teplansky, what version did your Chrome update to? I use Chrome, and thankfully it's still working. Just curious as to which update I need to avoid.

I updated to Version 43.0.2357.65 m

But I can't tell you that I'm absolutely sure that it was the upgrade or if I inadvertently changed another setting. When I go to IE (sigh) I do see the code in the HTML Source Editor.

Hi Rob and Jace,

Sadly Rob, I am still having the issue with Chrome, and I checked that I am

actually on the same version as you (Version 43.0.2357.65 ). I will be

logging a support ticket with Marketo, although I agree with you that this

is probably an issue on the Google side!

I am now using Firefox (on a Mac) for all of my Marketo work - there I can

see the code in the HTML source editor.

It's great to get your feedback, although I'm sorry to think that this may

become a more widespread issue.

Thanks,

Fran

Thanks Frances Salvacion!

I'm on an earlier version of Chrome still (42.0.2311.152) and the HTML editor is working fine.  Not to say this is the smoking-gun, but it's consistent with the notion that the latest version of Chrome is not simpatico with the HTML editor.

Hopefully that gives more context for the issue.  Keep us posted if that's confirmed with support.

I submitted a ticket as well for this - It does just seem to be a Chrome issue. I'm working in Safari for now. Hopefully this gets resolved soon!

Frances, were you able to track it down. Chrome just updated and now I don't see any content in my HTML Source Editor either.
